The present trend in the management of burn involves the use of antibiotics and commercial preparations of therapeutic agents. This study may pave the way for a cheaper, practical and a convenient additional source of medication for second degree burn Coconut haustorium were extracted and a 50% dilution amounting to 30 ml was obtained. Six albino rabbits were inflicted with coils of wire on the gluteal region and a second degree burn was produced. One rabbit serve as the control. The burn was treated with the extract and was under observation every day for one month The results revealed a higher percentage of healing in rabbits treated with the extract which significantly proved its role in the acceleration of wound healing on second degree burns. aCebu Doctors' Proceedings, 1993 9 (2) pages 83-87 2aCocos 2aBurns 2aRabbits1 aBonifacio, David Ross 1 aBascug, Maribel 1 aCue, Jason 1 aAlshibli, Nazria 1 aConcepcion, Ma.
